President of Republic, AU Chairman, Begins Working Visit to France

On 28 May, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic and Chairman of the African Union, arrived in Paris as part of a working visit to France at the invitation of the French President, His Excellency Mr Emmanuel Macron.

The President of the Republic was welcomed upon his arrival at Le Bourget International Airport by HE Mr. Daha Ould Teiss, our Ambassador to France, HE  Ambassador Moulati Mint Mokhtar, Mauritania’s permanent representative to UNESCO, alongside members of our two diplomatic missions in Paris.

Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani left Geneva (Switzerland) today after overseeing the opening of the 77th session of the World Health Assembly.

His Excellency, the President of the Republic, was accompanied by a large delegation composed of Mr. Mokhtar Ould Diaye, the Minister in Charge of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic, Ms. Naha Hamdi Moukness, the Minister of Health, Messrs. Sid’Ahmed Ould Ebouh and Cheikh Ould Badda, advisors at the Presidency of the Republic, and Mr. El Hassen Ould Ahmed, the Director General of State Protocol.
