Minister of Interior holds discussions with European Union delegation

The Minister of the Interior and Decentralization, Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Ould Mohamed Lemine, held discussions today, Thursday, in his office at the Ministry’s headquarters in Nouakchott, with a mission from the European Union headed by the Director General for Africa at the European External Action Service, Ms. Rita Laranginha.

The meeting, in the presence of Mr. Mohamed Mahfoudh Brahim Ahmed, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Interior and Decentralization, discussed the existing cooperation relations between our country and the European Union, especially in the areas entrusted to the interior and decentralization sector, and ways to strengthen and develop them.
The meeting was also attended on the European side by HE.Mr. Javier Nino Pérez, Ambassador of the European Union to the African Union, and His Excellency Mr. Lopez Aquilar Juan Fernando, Chairman of the Committee for Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs of the European Commission.
