President of Republic Receives Libyan Presidential Council President’s Special Envoy

On 24 April, in Nouakchott, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani, the President of the Republic and Chairman of the African Union, received Mr. Imad Al-Falah, a Special Envoy of His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Younes Al-Menfi, the President of the Presidential Council of the Libyan State.

The meeting focused on bilateral cooperation between Mauritania and the sisterly state of Libya and issues of common interest.

Shortly after the meeting, the Libyan official told the Mauritanian news agency (AMI) that he had come carrying a message from Mohamed Younes Al-Menfi, the President of the Libyan Presidential Council, to his brother and friend Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani, the President of the Republic. He highlighted the depth of the historical relations between Mauritania and Libya and the continuous and close consultation in all areas of interest for the two brotherly countries, including the revitalization of the role of the Arab Maghreb Union.

The Libyan envoy confirmed having received positive responses from His Excellency the President of the Republic.
