President of the Employers’ Federation Holds Talks with the Syrian Ambassador

The President of the National Union of Mauritanian Employers, Mohamed Zine El Abidine Ould Cheikh Ahmed, held talks on Tuesday in his office with the Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic to Mauritania, Qusai Thabet Mustafa.

At the beginning of the meeting, the President of the Union welcomed HE the Ambassador, speaking about the depth of relations between Mauritania and Syria.

The two sides discussed ways to develop and strengthen economic and trade cooperation between economic operators in the two brotherly countries.

In this regard, the President of the Union gave a presentation on the great opportunities available in the field of investment in our country, especially in promising sectors, and called, through His Excellency the Ambassador, business owners in Syria to visit Mauritania to see these opportunities on the ground and work to establish partnerships with Mauritanian economic operators.

He expressed the Union’s readiness to accompany and support the visit of a delegation of Syrian businessmen to Mauritania.

In turn, HE the Syrian Ambassador thanked the President of the Union for providing the opportunity to meet, and for the detailed presentation on the Mauritanian private sector and its distinguished role in economic and social development, expressing at the same time his endeavor to establish and strengthen the partnership between the economic actors of the two countries to serve common interests and consolidate the existing relations between them in all fields.
