On 12 March, in Nouakchott, Ms. Fatimettou Mint Khatry, the Commissioner for Food Security, received HE Mr. Alexandre Garcia, the Ambassador of the French Republic to Mauritania.
The talks touched on the cooperation relations between the two friendly countries and ways to strengthen and develop them, especially in the food security field.
During the meeting, Ms. Mint Khatry briefed the French Ambassador on our country’s efforts in the field of food security and the roles played by the Commission within the framework of implementing the program of His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, as it began implementing a package of important social programs that had a positive impact on the living conditions of citizens, particularly the most vulnerable classes.
Mr. Garcia expressed to the Commissioner his appreciation for the efforts of the Mauritanian government in the field of food security and support for vulnerable classes, affirming France’s readiness to enhance cooperation with our country in the field of food security, within the framework of the friendship and cooperation relations between the two friendly countries.
