Inauguration of the Headquarters of the “Gas Research Institute” in Algeria

The headquarters of the Gas Research Institute (GRI), affiliated to the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), will be inaugurated on Thursday in Algiers, in the presence of the Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Araqab, accompanied by the Secretary-General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum Mohamed Hamel, several representatives of member countries and the director of the institute, Azzedine Ajab.
The inauguration comes on the sidelines of the 7th Summit of the Forum, which is a hub for innovation and research, dedicated to promoting the understanding and application of gas-related technologies across the world.

The institute also aims to provide a framework for scientific and technological cooperation through information exchange, innovation, exchange of best practices, training, as well as technology transfer and promotion of its use and development along the gas value chain.

The institute’s director, Ezzedine Ajab, stressed that the institute “will constitute an added value to the gas sector by searching for new technological means that allow the development of the gas industry, adding that it will play a “key role” in this field.
