On 29 February, in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, Mr. Mokhtar Ould Dahi, the Minister of National Education and Educational System Reform, chaired the seventh ordinary session of the regional steering committee of ministers of the member countries of the Sahel Women’s Empowerment and Demographic Dividend (SWEED) project.
The steering committee’s annual meeting aims to present the results of the SWEDD’s interventions during 2023 and the program for 2024.
The present session saw the transfer of the committee’s presidency from Mauritania to Burkina Faso.
The member countries of the committee made presentations on the achievements of the project in 2023 in the areas of education, health, and women’s empowerment through the programs of the ministries of social affairs, children, and family, in addition to a detailed presentation of each country’s program for 2024.
