The Minister of Digital Transformation, Innovation and Modernization of Administration, Mr. Mohammed Abdullah Louli, met today in Dubai, on the sidelines of the World Government Summit 2024, with His Excellency Mr. Amandeep Singh Gil, the United Nations Secretary-General’s Envoy on Technology.
The meeting dealt with various aspects of cooperation between our country and the United Nations related to digital transformation.
In his conversation with the UN envoy, Minister Çavuşoğlu reviewed the digital transformation policies in our country, starting with digital infrastructure, as the backbone of any comprehensive and tangible digital transformation.
The UN Secretary-General’s Envoy spoke about the state of AI governance, the interim report of the UN Secretary-General’s High-Level Advisory Council on AI, and Mauritania’s opportunity to contribute to the final report there through regional consultations.
The meeting also addressed various aspects of digital transformation, such as public digital infrastructure, the need to integrate a secure and inclusive approach, as well as local capacity development.
The meeting ended by stressing the need for future cooperation between Mauritania and the United Nations in this regard.
