President of the Republic Stresses the need to Continue International Mobilization in Favor of Security and Development in the Sahel Region

His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, stressed that the impact of the regional security situation is not specific to the regional region only, but also extends beyond that.
Convinced that building peace and stability is essentially a collective undertaking, His Excellency the President of the Republic stressed the need to continue international mobilization in favour of security and development in the Sahel region.
For their part, the President of the Spanish Government, Mr. Pedro Sánchez, and the President of the European Commission, H.E. Ms. Ursula von der Leyen, stressed the depth and diversity of the close cooperation relations between Mauritania and the European Union, on the one hand, and Mauritania and the Kingdom of Spain, on the other.
These points came in a joint final statement that culminated in the visit of the Spanish Prime Minister and the President of the European Commission to our country on Thursday.
