The formation of a parliamentary group for Mauritian-Algerian friendship was announced on 31 January in Nouakchott.
The new parliamentary team aims to strengthen cooperation between the two brotherly countries through coordination and partnership in all areas of common interest.
MP Dah Souhaïb, the head of the parliamentary team, stressed that it complemented and supported the government action of the two countries, hailing the relations between Mauritania and Algeria in all areas.
For his part, HE Mr. Mohamed Ben Attou, the Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to Mauritania, said that the announcement of the formation of the parliamentary team, a few days after the visit of the Speaker of the Mauritanian National Assembly to Algeria, and the signing of a parliamentary cooperation protocol between the two countries, confirms the importance and role of parliamentary diplomacy in the development and strengthening of bilateral cooperation relations in all areas.
The MPs announced their desire to strengthen cooperation between the two brotherly countries by developing a joint work program and an action plan between the two parliamentary groups and creating the Joint Parliamentary Commission for Cooperation.
