President of Republic Lays the Foundation Stone for a Project to Build a Number of Health Facilities Distributed Among Several Wilayas

On 12 December in Aleg, His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani, laid the foundation stone for a project to build a health component, within the framework of which a number of important health facilities will be built that will benefit residents in several states of the country.

Within the framework of this project, three hospitals will be built in the cities of Aleg, Laayoune and Tajjakja, 20 health centers and 28 health points, distributed among several states, with a total financial envelope of about 23 billion old ouguiya.

Each of these hospitals consists of departments specialized in urgent cases, detention, obstetrics, medical consultations, children, medical isolation, operations, resuscitation, radiology, and laboratories, as well as a complete administrative wing.

The capacity of each of these three hospitals, which will be built on a built-up area of ​​approximately 9,600 square metres, is 86 beds.

The total cost of these hospitals, where the work is scheduled to be completed within a period not exceeding 18 months, amounts to 695 million new ouguiya.

Each of the twenty health centers includes four wings, for medical consultation, maternity and childhood, detention, radiology and laboratory, as well as administrative offices.

The total cost of these centers, which are scheduled to be completed within 14 months, amounts to one billion and 300 million new ouguiya.

As for the health points, which number 28, each one has rooms specialized in treatment, vaccination, examination, childbirth, and waiting.

The financial cost of these health points, which are scheduled to be completed within 10 months, amounts to 354 million new ouguiya.

After laying the foundation stone and removing the memorial plaque for this component, His Excellency the President of the Republic continued with a presentation about the capacity of each of these health facilities, their role in bringing medical service closer to the citizen, the type of equipment that will be available, and the technical methods that will be adopted to build these medical facilities.
