President of Republic Inaugurates a Group of Road Sections
On Tuesday 12 December, in the city of Aleg, His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, inaugurated a group of road sections in several Wilayas of the country.
The road sections that were inaugurated included the expansion and rehabilitation of the Aleg-Boutilimit section, with a length of 107 km, and a financial envelope amounting to 15.4 billion old ouguiyas, and urban sections that included the construction of 6.35 km of urban roads in the city of Tidjigdja, with a financial envelope exceeding (800) million old ouguiyas.
And 6.15 km of urban roads in the city of Kiffa, with an amount exceeding (800) million old ouguiyas, and 7.03 km of urban roads in the city of L’Iyoune, with a financial cost of more than (850) million old ouguiyas, and 6.4 km of urban roads in the city of Aleg, with a financial envelope amounting to (657) million old ouguiya.
These road sections, which benefit a significant number of the country’s cities and villages, will facilitate traffic on the Hope Road and strengthen the road network within the aforementioned cities, which contributes to breaking the isolation of their various neighborhoods and creates favorable opportunities to enhance trade exchange and local development.
His Excellency the President of the Republic, after cutting the symbolic ribbon and removing the commemorative plaque marking the start of operation of these road sections, continued with a presentation on the technical procedures that were adopted in constructing these sections, and the extent of their contribution to enhancing the flow of traffic within the targeted cities, which contributes to creating broad prospects for activating Trade movement and promotes economic development.
The Minister of Equipment and Transport, Mr. Mohamed Ali Ould Sidi Mohamed, confirmed in a speech on the occasion that the projects, workshops and facilities that were launched and inaugurated during the past days and weeks reflect, in their diversity and comprehensiveness, the keenness of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani, for development to take on its deep meaning and to be embodied on the ground by raising the quality of life and improving the living conditions of citizens.
He added that the achievements in road infrastructure during the past four years embody the government’s keenness to move forward in strengthening the road network, connecting the country’s connections, and facilitating movement, transportation, and communication between its various points and destinations.
