The Minister of Water Participates in the work of the Fifteenth Session of the Arab Ministerial Council for Water

The Minister of Water and Sanitation, Mr. Ismail Abdel Fattah, participated in the opening of the fifteenth session of the Arab Ministerial Council for Water, in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Minister delivered a speech in which he spoke about the importance of holding such a meeting to exchange expertise and experiences between various Arab countries and contribute to raising the level of performance of the sectors concerned with water in the Arab world.

During the past four years, the Minister stressed to the participants that the Islamic Republic of Mauritania has made great strides in this field, through the preparation of a national strategy for access to potable water by 2030, noting that work is underway to update a water code.

The Minister called on Arab countries to work collectively to overcome the various challenges facing the sustainable provision of safe drinking water.

His Excellency stressed that our country will take into account the various recommendations issued by the meetings of the Executive Office of the Ministerial Council and the Arab Water Conference.
