President of Republic Arrives in New York To Participate in UN General Assembly

On 18 September, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, arrived in New York to participate in the work of the 78th ordinary session of the UN General Assembly.

During this trip, His Excellency the President of the Republic is accompanied by a large delegation, which will participate with him in several high-level meetings as part of the work of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly,

which aims to relaunch the “2030 Agenda”. for sustainable development, agreed in 2015, and linked to increasing the level of climate ambition and financing of development areas, prevention, preparedness, and response to epidemics, universal health coverage, the fight against tuberculosis, and the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.

According to a statement by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, 140 heads of state and government will participate in this session.
