The Minister of Social AFFAIRS, Childhood, and Family, Mme Naha Mint Haroun Ould Cheikh Sidiya, participated Tuesday, via videoconference, in the works of the 8th conference of the Arab woman organization. This edition was held under the slogan: “The Arab woman and cultural challenges”.
In her speech, she stressed that president of the Republic’s electoral program, “My Priorities”, attaches great importance to the Mauritanian woman.
She added that despite the trying circumstances caused by COVID-19, the extended priorities of government focused on the economic independence of woman and supporting her resilience against the pandemic. In this regard, hundreds of million ouguiyas were allocated to provide interest-free soft loans for thousands of women; along with subsidizing the essential commodities, cash transfer, and health insurance to thousands of families in the most under-privileged areas of the country.
