On 18 January, in Nouakchott, the Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Cheikh Abdallah ben Boya, received HE.Rashad Hussain, the U.S Ambassador-at- Large for International Religious Freedoms, who is currently visiting our country to participate in the third African conference for the promotion of peace held in Nouakchott, under the slogan:“Enter All in Peace”.
The meeting addressed various aspects of cooperation between our country and the United States of America in the field of combating terrorism, extremism, and human trafficking. During the meeting, the Minister made a presentation on the important reforms undertaken by the government, particularly in the field of human rights.
Mr. Hussain commended the government’s efforts in this area, citing the ratification of two laws: the law on the prevention of human trafficking and the law on associations.
