President of Republic Presides Over Flag-Raising Ceremony

The President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, presided over, Saturday at the presidential palace, the flag-raising ceremony as part of events commemorating the 62nd anniversary of the national independence.

The ceremony took place in the presence of the Prime Minister, Mr. Mohamed Ould Bilal, the Speaker of the National Assembly, MP Cheikh Ould Baya, the President of the Constitutional Council, Mr. Diallo Mamadou Bathia, the leader of the Democratic Opposition, Mr. Ibrahim Ould Bekaye, former president Mohamed Khouna Ould Haidalla, and prime ministers, the governor of Western Nouakchott, government members, director of the President’s Cabinet, heads of Constitutional institutions, Army and security chiefs of staff, representative of political parties and unions, members of diplomatic corps, representative of international organizations accredited to Mauritania, military attaches of embassies, and high-profile figures in the country.
