President of the Republic, Equatorial Guinean Counterpart Supervise Signing Ceremony of Cooperation Agreements between the two Countries
The President of the Republic, H.E. Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, and His Counterpart the President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, H.E. Mr. Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, supervised yesterday in Malabo the signing ceremony of several cooperation agreements between the two countries.
These agreements, which cover multiple fields, will contribute to the expansion and development of areas of bilateral cooperation in line with the common interests of the two countries.
These agreements, signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, Mr. Mohamed Salem Merzoug, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Equatorial Guinea, Mr. Siméon Oyono Esono Angue, are:
– A framework agreement for economic, commercial, cultural, and scientific cooperation between the various government sectors of the two countries for cooperation agreements in accordance with their mutual interests. In this regard, a joint committee for cooperation, chaired by the foreign ministers of the two countries, was set up to follow, assess, and Implement this agreement.
– The second agreement concerns the establishment of rules of procedure defining the mechanisms of action of this committee.
– A memorandum of understanding on diplomatic consultations allowing coordination of the positions of the two countries in the various regional and international forums and coordination on issues of common interest.
– Agreement on mutual exemption of visa entry and exit and residence for holders of diplomatic and service passports.
