Human Rights Commissioner Meets With EU, IOM Joint Mission

On 21 September, in Nouakchott, Mr. Cheikh Ahmedou Ould Ahmed Salem Ould Sidi, the Commissioner for Human Rights, Humanitarian Action, and Relations with Civil Society, held a working session with a joint mission between the European Union (EU) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) led by Mr. Henrik Nielsen, the Director of International Affairs at the EU Directorate General for Migration.
During the working session, the mission listened to presentations on the efforts made by Mauritania to fight against trafficking in human beings by presenting the national system decided by our country in this context and the procedures adopted relating to victims of human trafficking and migrants.
The meeting also discussed the areas of cooperation between Mauritania and the European Union and the means to develop and strengthen it.
The joint mission included Ms. Paradis Anne Françoise, the Political Advisor to the EU Delegation to Mauritania, and Boubacar Seybou Souleymane, the head of the IOM Mission to Mauritania.
