Human Rights Commissioner Holds Working Session with UN Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of Slavery

On Wednesday, the Commissioner for Human Rights, Humanitarian Action, and Relations with Civil Society, Mr. Cheikh Ahmedou Ould Ahmed Salem Ould Sidi, held a working session with the UN Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of slavery, Mr. Tomoya Obokata.

During the meeting, the commissioner gave a presentation on Mauritania’s achievements in combating the remnants of slavery and the procedures adopted in this regard by enacting laws and raising awareness on their contents, as well as supporting underprivileged groups of society.
