President of Republic Receives OIC Secretary-General

The President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, received in audience on Saturday, near the city of Kiffa, where he is spending his annual vacation, the Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr. Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed.

During the audience, the Secretary-General expressed his gratitude to the President of the Republic for presenting his candidacy for the post and for the efforts he made to secure his election by consensus.

He also presented the President of the Republic with two shields: the first commemorating the life of the Prophet, and the second on behalf of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.

In turn, the President of the Republic congratulated the Secretary-General and wished him continued success in carrying out his mission.
