Mauritania, Algeria: Discussions To Strengthen Cooperation in Equipment, Transportation Fields

On the sidelines of the 20th session of the Mauritanian-Algerian Joint High Commission for Cooperation held on 6 and 7 April in Algiers, Mr. Ely Ould El Veirik, the Minister of Equipment and Transportation, held discussions with Mr. Said Saayoud, the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transportation, and Mr. Abdelkader Djellaoui, the Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure.

These meetings provided an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of equipment and transportation, while acknowledging joint achievements—notably the Tindouf-Zouerate highway project—and the growing momentum in the transportation sector, both land and air.

Both parties expressed their shared commitment to enhancing cooperation by supporting partnerships among institutions, agencies, and national companies through the development of connectivity and the facilitation of trade, while strengthening bilateral relations in the interests of the two brotherly peoples.

At the conclusion of the discussions, both parties emphasized the need to activate coordination and monitoring mechanisms to ensure the implementation of the agreed-upon projects on the ground, thereby achieving the development objectives shared by both countries.
