Minister of Fisheries Meets With EU Commissioner for Home Affairs, Migration

On 23 March in Nouakchott, Mr. Mokhtar Ahmed Bousseif, Minister of Fisheries, Maritime and Port Infrastructure, held talks with Mr. Magnus Brunner, EU Commissioner for Home Affairs and Migration, who is currently visiting Mauritania.

The talks reviewed cooperation between Mauritania and the European Union, particularly in the areas of migration and combating irregular migration.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the EU official to commend the Mauritanian coast guard’s efforts in this area, emphasizing the EU’s commitment to supporting this department so that it can fully carry out its missions.
