The Minister of Higher Education Receives the Director of UNESCO’s Regional Office in the Maghreb

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Yakoub Ould Meine, received, Wednesday, in his office in Nouakchott, His Excellency Mr. Sharaf Ahmimid, the new Director of UNESCO’s Regional Office for the Maghreb.
The meeting addressed ways to strengthen and develop the existing partnership between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and UNESCO’s Regional Office, particularly in the fields of higher education and academic cooperation, contributing to supporting university training, exchanging expertise, and promoting scientific research.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to review national priorities in the higher education sector, explore opportunities to expand areas of joint cooperation, and activate UNESCO’s programs and initiatives supporting the university system, in ways that serve sustainable development goals and enhance the quality of education and scientific research in our country.
