National Committee for Human Rights participates in the Conference of the Arab Network of National Human Rights Institutions in Bahrain

A delegation from the National Committee for Human Rights, headed by Dr. Alkebaye Ould Abdelmalick, the Committee’s President, participated in the Conference of the Arab Network of National Human Rights Institutions and its 25th General Assembly, held on January 12-13, 2026, in Manama, the capital of the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the theme: ‘Protecting Children in the Digital Space: Challenges, Legislation, and Preventive Measures.’

During the first day, the conference discussed the topic of legal protection for children from the risks of the digital space and the various mechanisms adopted by governments, national human rights institutions, families, and civil society, as well as the practical and preventive measures they implement to reduce the negative impact of the digital environment on children in the Arab region.

The second day of the conference was dedicated to the General Assembly of the network, during which the periodic presidency of the network transitioned from the Kingdom of Jordan to the Kingdom of Bahrain, and our country was elected as a member of the network’s Executive Committee.

The final statement of the conference included a set of important recommendations related to legislative frameworks, field implementation procedures, and preventive strategies aimed at reducing the impact of cyber threats on children’s rights.
