Opening of a Workshop on the Implementation of the Tobacco Control Law

The Mauritanian Association for the Fight Against Tuberculosis and AIDS organized today, Sunday in Nouakchott, a workshop dedicated to training advisors and staff in ministries on the implementation of Law 2018-020 on tobacco control in Mauritania, in addition to Articles 5.2 and 5.3 of the World Health Organization Framework Convention on Tobacco Control.

This workshop, organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, aims to enhance the capacities of advisers and key personnel in government sectors by training them on the relevant legal and institutional foundations, clarifying the responsibilities of each ministry, highlighting the risks of tobacco and the associated health and economic issues, and working to establish effective coordination mechanisms among the concerned parties.
