The Mayor of Ouadane Municipality, Mr. Mohamed Al-Amine Ould Abab, emphasized that the Madaen Heritage Festival represents an important developmental occasion on which the district’s residents place great hopes for boosting local development and enhancing public facilities, highlighting the significant importance of this festival at both local and national levels.
He added in an interview with the Mauritanian News Agency that this festival brought many significant benefits to this city, which had been forgotten, as it contributed to stabilizing its residents, brought back those who had left, and increased their interest in their historic city.
He thanked the mayor, the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, who made the decision for the Cities of Heritage Festival to have a direct developmental impact, adding that this festival revived history and boosted economic development in Ouadane.
The mayor pointed out that the public authorities have responded to the majority of the residents’ demands, as drinking water, which is a priority for citizens in the district, has been provided. The concerned authorities, represented by the National Water Company, solved this issue by connecting two artesian wells, one producing 18 cubic meters and the other producing 22 cubic meters.
