Chinese Embassy is giving out the Awards for the Second Edition of the Short Film Competition

The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Nouakchott organized an awards ceremony this evening, Tuesday, for the second edition of the short video competition, held by the embassy in collaboration with the Confucius Institute at the University of Nouakchott, under the title ‘I Have a Chinese Talent’.
More than 70 videos participated in the competition, submitted by students of the Chinese Language Department at Nouakchott University. Their contributions varied between Chinese calligraphy, painting, music, Chinese cooking, martial arts, and Chinese dance, and also included Chinese philosophical thought.
The ceremony featured a presentation of clips from the entries received by the competition committee, before beginning to honor the recipients of the Excellence Award among the contestants, then honoring those with the highest viewership, as well as the outstanding teachers, before the prizes were distributed to the winners of the top three positions.
In his speech on the occasion, the Chinese ambassador to Mauritania expressed his happiness at seeing young Mauritanians using the TikTok platform as a window for creative expression – through their lenses – to showcase their unique understanding of various Chinese arts, adding that this year marks the sixtieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mauritania.
He added that over these sixty years, mutual political trust between the two countries has strengthened, and cooperation in various fields has yielded tangible results.
In turn, the Director General of the National School of Hotel Management and Tourism, Mr. Mahamoudou Zeine Al-Abidine, emphasized the importance of the tourism sector, particularly the National School of Languages, especially the Chinese language, which is today considered one of the most important languages in the world.
