The Minister of State Property Returns to Nouakchott

The Minister of State Property, Heritage and Land Reform, Mr. Mamoudou Mamadou NIANG, returned to Nouakchott on Friday afternoon from Belém (Brazil), after participating in the 30th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30).

During his stay in Belém, the Minister participated in several high-level meetings related to land governance and climate change.

The Minister also attended several bilateral meetings, notably with the heads of delegations from friendly countries and the leaders of high-level international institutions, including the Global Fund for Cities Development, the African Development Bank and the United Nations Development Programme.

Discussions between the Minister and the heads of these institutions focused on ways and means of further strengthening cooperation with our country in the areas of land governance at the urban, rural and coastal levels, improving the legal and regulatory framework, establishing a transparent and reliable land registry, and developing an inclusive, transparent and sustainable land strategy.
