Prime Minister meets with the National Federation of Agriculture

Prime Minister Mokhtar Ould Djay chaired on Monday a meeting of the National Federation of Agriculture, in the presence of the President of the National Federation of Mauritanian Employers, Mr. Zeine El Abidine Ould Cheikh Ahmed.

In his speech, the Prime Minister explained that the meeting comes in implementation of the directives of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, to meet the various components of the Employers’ Federation and listen to the obstacles facing the progress of the national private sector.

The farmers praised the current agricultural campaign and reassured about the level of the harvest.

After the interventions and discussion of the various issues raised by the sector, the Prime Minister explained that agriculture is of special importance to H.E. President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, due to the strategic goal of food sovereignty; therefore, the directives given to the government to positively support this vital sector and provide everything necessary for its success, which made the government fulfill the requests presented to it in the last meeting with the Federation eight months ago and will continue the same approach in the future.

he Prime Minister warned the farmers that the interest in the sector comes to serve the Mauritanian citizen and facilitate his livelihood, which is a goal that everyone should work towards, and the government will not fail in all guarantees that achieve this strategic goal.
