On Saturday, Mauritania participated in the activities of the “Mauritanian National Day” organized within the Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, under the supervision of the Minister of Trade and Tourism, Mrs. Zainab Mint Ahmednah, and in joint coordination between the Ministry, the National Expo Committee and the Embassy of our country in Tokyo, under the supervision of the Minister of Trade and Tourism.
The Secretary General of the Ministry of Trade and Tourism, Mr. Amadou El Hadj Gueye, delivered an opening speech on behalf of the Minister, in which he expressed the importance of participating in such international events, which enhance Mauritania’s presence and introduce investment opportunities and the country’s tourism and cultural assets.
The Mauritanian delegation included the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to Japan, Mr. Abdallah Ould Kabd, as well as official staff from the Ministry of Trade and Tourism and a number of technicians, engineers and representatives of the cultural and artistic sector.
The event was attended by high-level Japanese officials, including government officials, members of the organizing committee of the exhibition, a number of ambassadors and representatives of participating countries, as well as economic and cultural figures interested in Mauritanian affairs.
The cultural program included outstanding musical and artistic performances by artists (Adi Ould Bessif, Zainab Mint Hambara, Hawa Sek, and BRMX), which reflected the rich cultural diversity of our country and met with wide interaction from the audience.
The national pavilion also reflected the comprehensive image of Mauritania through presentations of national products and traditional industries, as well as tourism and economic opportunities, with the Ministry of Commerce staff providing visual presentations and direct promotional meetings with visitors and investors.
Mauritania’s participation was widely praised by the official and media delegations present, and was covered by a number of Japanese and international media outlets.
Several organizations expressed their desire to develop cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, especially in the fields of trade and tourism.
