Minister of Economy discusses Partnership Opportunities with UNCDF

The Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Sid’ Ahmed Ould Bouh, received on Tuesday, on the sidelines of the Seville Conference, Ms. Laura Perez, Head of the West and Central Africa and Caribbean Sector of the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF).

The meeting discussed opportunities to establish a strategic partnership between Mauritania and UNCDF, within the framework of efforts to support sustainable development and promote investment in productive projects.

During the meeting, the two parties stressed the importance of mobilizing development finance and promoting innovation and sustainable investment, in order to reduce poverty and stimulate local economic growth, in line with national development priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Fund is a catalytic financing mechanism of the United Nations to support small and medium-sized enterprises, expand access to finance, and promote entrepreneurship and innovation at the local level.
