Fisheries Minister heads to Dakar

The Minister of Fisheries, Maritime and Port Infrastructures, Mr. Fadhil Sidati Ould Ahmed Louly, left Nouakchott last night for the Senegalese capital, Dakar, to participate in the Conference of Fisheries Ministers of the Sub-Regional Fisheries Committee (SRFC) countries, scheduled to take place on the 2nd and 3rd of this month.

The agenda of the conference includes the follow-up of the recommendations of the last conference, budget issues, and the future action plan to develop cooperation in the field of fisheries among the member countries.

The Sub-Regional Fisheries Commission comprises seven West African countries: Mauritania, Senegal, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone and the Cape Verde Islands.

The minister is accompanied by a delegation of sector officials.
