Minister of Culture oversees the Launch of the OnlinePlatform for the Mauritanian Encyclopedia of Popular Literature.

The Minister of Culture, Arts, Communication, and Parliamentary Relations, the government spokesperson, Mr. Hussein Ould Medou, oversaw the official launch event of the electronic platform for the Mauritanian popular literature encyclopedia this evening, Monday, at the headquarters of the Diplomatic Academy in Nouakchott, organized by the Mauritanian Union for Popular Literature.The platform, which supports national languages, aims to preserve the literary heritage in all local languages by digitizing it and facilitating access for researchers in the field.

The platform includes administrative tools that allow moderators to review, edit, approve or modify the content, ensuring the quality and accuracy of the content, while preserving the spontaneous popular nature of the texts.

The Minister said that His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazwani, has placed culture at the heart of his national project, believing that it represents a fundamental pillar in building the human being and strengthening social cohesion, making it a strategic axis in his political vision, as it has a crucial role in consolidating the national identity, developing creativity and opening the horizons of dialogue with the world, without compromising originality or diluting privacy.

He added that the attention to the national heritage was materialized through the establishment of the l Cultural Festival and the addition of a developmental dimension to the “Mada’in Heritage” and “Gol” festivals, which had a positive impact on the four UNESCO World Heritage Cities, as well as the adoption of March 1 as a national day for cultural diversity that is celebrated annually with the participation of all components of society, in order to consolidate the national identity and value the cultural, linguistic and artistic richness of the country.
