Minister of Foreign Affairs participates in the Signing Ceremony of the International Mediation Organization

Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, participated on Friday in Hong Kong, People’s Republic of China, in the signing ceremony of the agreement establishing the International Mediation Organization (IMO).

This initiative, presented by the People’s Republic of China several years ago, aims to activate the mediation mechanism as the most important peaceful means of resolving disputes between countries and avoiding tensions and conflicts.

The ceremony brought together a large number of diplomatic leaders from different parts of the world to sign this initiative, which is based on full respect for the principles of the UN Charter, which are agreed upon by all parties of the international community.

The signing ceremony was attended by H.E. Mr. Mohamed Abdallah Ould Fellali, Ambassador of Mauritania to the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Saleck Mohamed Moussa Hamah, Director of Legal Affairs and Treaties at the Ministry, Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Douh, Director of Communication and Information, and Mr. Amadou Baila Ba, Deputy Assistant Director of Honors, in addition to the Minister.
