President of the Republic receives Algerian Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure

HE President of the Republic Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani met, Thursday morning at the Presidential Palace in Nouakchott, with the Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Lakhdar Rakhroukh.

Following the meeting, the Algerian minister made a statement to the Mauritanian News Agency, saying that he and the Director General of the Algerian Agency for International Cooperation for Solidarity and Development had the honor to have a metting with the President of the Republic. The meeting was an opportunity to convey the greetings of HE President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune to his brother and friend, HE the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

The meeting was also an opportunity to review the existing bilateral cooperation relations between the two brotherly countries and the developmental dynamics witnessed in many fields, he said, adding that these dynamics reflect the will of the leaders of the two countries to advance bilateral relations along the path of integrative partnership.

During the meeting, the Algerian minister briefed HE the President of the Republic on the progress of the important strategic project “Tindouf-Zouerate road”, which the two brotherly peoples rely on, along with the accompanying projects, to enhance communication and trade exchange to strengthen the relationship between the two countries. He added that the road will be a link between the two countries and will raise the level of partnership, trade and social exchange between Algeria and Mauritania.

The meeting was attended by the Minister in charge of the Office of the President of the Republic, Mr. Nani Ould Shrougha, the Minister of Equipment and Transport, Mr. Ely Ould El Veirik, and HE Ambassador of Mauritania to Algeria, Mr. Sidi Mohamed Ould Abdallahi.

On the Algerian side, the meeting was also attended by Mr. Mohamed Karim, Chargé d’affaires at the Algerian Embassy in Nouakchott, and Mr. Helouz Abid, Director General of the Algerian Agency for International Cooperation for Solidarity and Development.
