Minister of Foreign Affairs represents President of the Republic at AU Retreat

The retreat of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU) kicked off on Sunday in Nairobi, Kenya, with the participation of Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, representing H.E. President of the Republic and AU Chairperson Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani.

The retreat dealt with various files related to the reform of the AU system, in addition to bilateral meetings and extensive discussions on various topics related to African affairs.

The meeting was attended by Ms. Khadija Mbarek Vall, Mauritania’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the African Union, Mr. Amadou Baila, Assistant Director of Honors at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Mohamedi Ould Ahmeh, Senior Counselor at the Embassy of Mauritania in Ethiopia.
