Minister of Culture oversees the Presentation of the Book “Archaeology: Sand and Snow in Symbiosis”

The Minister of Culture, Arts, Communication and Relations with Parliament, Spokesperson of the Government, Mr. El Houssein Ould Medou, on Tuesday evening at the Diplomatic Academy, presided over the presentation ceremony of the book “Archaeology: Sand and Snow in Symbiosis,” by Mauritanian writer Dr. Mohamed Abdallah Babah and American Mr. Jerry Claude.

In his speech on the occasion, the Minister of Culture expressed his thanks to the authors, noting that this work constituted a cultural embrace in which poetry represented a bridge between civilizations, transcending all distances between tongues and hearts.

He added that this evening comes within the framework of the cultural transformation witnessed by our country, which embodies the vision of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, with his great interest in the cultural act as a tool for achieving sustainable development

He said that this book is a qualitative addition that will illuminate a new horizon in a world that makes us see how the traces of nature can unite with the echoes of poetry.

For his part, Mr. Mohamed Abdullah Babah expressed his thanks to all those who participated in the production of this beautiful literary work, and said that the Ministry of Culture has given this book special attention through its interest in everything related to culture, literature and art.

Ould Babah explained that this literary work was a good fruit of a group of great creative poets who succeeded in depicting the other side of the life of these creatures through their traces and paths, thus recording a rich hidden archaeological history, for which they painted with the quill of the word immortal pages of beautiful paintings and drawings.

For his part, Jerry Claude expressed his pleasure in this work, which allowed him to learn about Mauritanian culture through literature, which is a revealing mirror of the manifestation of the effects of nature on this wondrous planet.

During the ceremony, some poets recited poems related to the topic.

The ceremony was attended by the ministry’s staff and some people interested in literature and culture.
