The Minister of Islamic Affairs and Original Education Sidi Yahya Sheikhna Lamrabet held on Thursday at the Ministry’s headquarters a meeting with the Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman Mohammed bin Said Al Mamari, who is currently visiting our country at the head of an Omani delegation.
During the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the two sides.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Mauritanian Minister of Islamic Affairs and Original Education welcomed the Omani delegation, noting that this visit comes within the framework of cooperation and exchange of experiences between the Mauritanian Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Original Education, and the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman.
He explained that the memorandum of understanding (MoU) includes items related to mosques, endowments, zakat and digitization.
For his part, the Omani Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs explained that this visit comes within the framework of strengthening the distinguished relations between Mauritania and the Sultanate of Oman, and is a continuation of a previous visit of the Mauritanian Minister of Islamic Affairs and Original Education to Oman, pointing out that the signing of the MoU today is another step in strengthening cooperation and integration between institutions, as well as framing the bonds of friendship and expressing the move forward in cooperation in areas that strengthen the bonds of brotherhood.
During the meeting, the Omani delegation listened to a presentation on the structure and functions of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Original Education by the Secretary General of the Ministry, Mr. Baitallah Ould Ahmed Leswad.
The meeting was attended by a number of ministry officials and the Chargé d’affaires of the Omani Embassy in Nouakchott.
