Wali of Trarza: All Necessary Measures Have Been Taken to support Citizens Affected by the Senegal River floods

The Wali of Trarza, Mr. Mohamed Ould Ahmed Mouloud, said that the state’s response to the floods caused by the rising waters of the Senegal River was quick and positive, stressing that the authorities are following the situation closely and have taken the necessary measures to provide care and support to citizens in the affected areas.
In an interview with the Mauritanian News Agency’s office in Trarza, the Wali explained that preparations for the wave of floods that hit Trarza and the bank regions in general last week started early, as a state of emergency was declared at the regional level to take the necessary measures to save citizens from the threat of floods that may threaten their lives and damage their property, noting that all steps were taken in coordination with the central authorities who quickly responded to the calls, and the necessary resources were mobilized through the concerned sectors, such as the Ministries of Health, Equipment and Transport, Environment, Food Security Commission, and the General Delegation for Solidarity TAAZUR.
