On 8 October, in Nouakchott, the Prime Minister, Mr. Mokhtar Ould Diay, received the President and members of the board of the National Observatory for Election Monitoring.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister received a detailed report from Ms. Diya Ba, the President of the National Observatory for Election Monitoring, including a summary of the work of the Observatory’s teams in monitoring and observing the presidential elections held on 29 June 2024.
At the end of the meeting, the Observatory’s President made a statement to the Mauritanian news agency (AMI), thanking the Prime Minister for his warm welcome and specifying that during the meeting, a detailed report was presented on the work of the Observatory’s teams in monitoring and observing the elections.
She added that the Observatory’s report includes all supervision, observation, monitoring, and follow-up procedures before, during, and after the presidential election, highlighting, in this context, the positive spirit of cooperation that has characterized the Observatory’s work with all parties concerned by the electoral process, particularly the Independent National Electoral Commission, government agencies, civil society organizations, and national and international election monitoring bodies.
