African Union President receives Special Envoy From Gabonese President

HE President of the Republic and Chairperson of the African Union, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, received on Thursday evening at the Presidential Palace in Nouakchott, a government delegation from Gabon, headed by HE Minister of Transport and Merchant Marine, Mr Didoni Loic Ndinga Moudouma, a special envoy of the Gabonese President.

Mr Didoni Loic Ndinga Moudouma handed to HE the President of the Republic a written message from His Excellency the President of the Transition of the Gabonese Republic, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, expressing his appreciation and admiration for his honourable positions and his efforts for Africa during his current term in the chairmanship of the African Union.

Shortly after the meeting, the Gabonese special envoy told the Mauritanian News Agency that Gabonese President General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema asked him to discuss Mauritania’s support for his country’s candidate for the post of Director General of the Agency for the Security of Air Navigation in Africa and Madagascar (ASECNA).

He added that during the meeting, he received directives from the President of the Republic regarding the strengthening of ESCNA, which the President believes should be reformed in order to fulfil its role.
