The Embassy of the Republic of Egypt Arabic in Mauritania organized on Tuesday evening in Nouakchott, a reception on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the twenty-third of July revolution.
The Government was represented at the ceremony by HE. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, HE. Niang Mamoudou, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prime Ministry Advisor Hindou Mint Ainna, and Acting Ambassador and Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Massar Sissoko.
On this occasion, the Egyptian Ambassador to Mauritania, HE Khaled Youssef, congratulated HE President of the Republic Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani for the great confidence placed in him by the people by re-electing him to a new mission.
He congratulated Mauritania on assuming the rotating presidency of the African Union for the year 2024, stressing that it will succeed in leading the joint African action.
The Egyptian ambassador praised the noble Mauritanian position expressed by His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, during his participation in the Cairo Peace Summit on October 21 last year, which calls for stopping the war against the Palestinian people and speeding up the creation of safe corridors for the delivery of humanitarian aid and the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He stressed Mauritania’s keenness to continue joint work to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and solidarity that bind the two brotherly countries in order to achieve their interests and aspirations, especially in light of the Mauritanian presidency.
