Interior Ministry: “The Public Authorities Are Determined To Ensure Public Security and Tranquility”
The Ministry of Interior and Decentralization affirmed that the public authorities would remain determined to ensure public security and tranquility while guaranteeing the individual and collective rights and freedoms conferred by the law in the Rule of Law and institutions.
This is indicated in a statement released on 8 July and reads as follows:
” To preserve the climate of appeasement and forgiveness, all citizens who were arrested, following their participation in the acts of violence recently experienced in some areas of the country, were released on Sunday evening 7 July.
On the other hand, the foreigners who participated in those acts were detained, pending the completion of the regulatory provisions in this regard. The release of these groups comes after the security situation has returned to normal, in response to requests made by notables and local actors and after assurances given by the relatives and guardians of the released people but also after the specialized authorities have ensured that the majority of those arrested are young people who have been manipulated by some circles with personal agendas.
In this context, the Ministry of Interior and Decentralization reminds all citizens and residents that the public authorities will remain determined to ensure public security and tranquility while guaranteeing individual and collective rights and freedoms in the Rule of Law and institutions.
