During the meeting, HH the Emir and the accompanying delegation discussed investment opportunities in Mauritania in the fields of energy, commissioning ACWA Power, a company specializing in projects related to water and energy, to contact the ministry to study a project for the production of electricity from renewable energies and its use to desalinate water using RO technology.
He also asked the same Company to study the project of using gas from the Turtle Ahmeyim field for the local market, put in place a gas pipeline to transport the gas from the distribution point to the port area of N’Diago, and build a power plant to produce electricity from gas.
Finally, Ould Chrougha thanked HH the Emir for the warm welcome and his availability to support Mauritania in developing its energy resources, thus concretizing the links of fraternity and partnership between the two brotherly countries.
