President of Republic Participates in the Ceremony Commemorating the Thirtieth Anniversary of the Genocide that Targeted Tutsi Nationalits

His Excellency the President of the Republic, Chairman of the African Union, Mohamed Ould Cheikh ELGhazouani, participated on Sunday morning in the Rwandan capital, Kigali, in the ceremony commemorating the thirtieth anniversary of the genocide that targeted the Tutsi in 1994, which falls on April 7 of each year.
The commemoration ceremony began with President Paul Kagame lighting a torch at the Gisumi Memorial in Kigali, in the presence of His Excellency the President of the Republic, the Chairperson of the African Union, the President of the European Council, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, and a number of Heads of State and Government.
Rwandan President Paul Kagame delivered a speech on the occasion, focusing on aspects of this tragedy and reaffirming the importance of peaceful coexistence.
HE the President of the Republic held a meeting yesterday with HE Rwandan President Paul Kagame, in which they discussed ways to strengthen and develop bilateral cooperation relations between the two brotherly countries, raise the level of cooperation between the African Union countries, and regional and international issues of common interest.
