Minister of Economy Holds Talks with a Number of Senior Officials of the International Monetary Fund

The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mr. Abdessalam Ould Mohamed Saleh, held meetings on Thursday in Washington with a number of senior officials of the International Monetary Fund.
The Minister held talks with Mr. Jihad Azour, Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department, who was accompanied by Ms. Taleen Kuranachalina, Assistant Director of the same Department, and Mr. Felix Fischer, Head of the Fund’s Mission to Mauritania.
In the same context, the Minister held separate meetings with Mr. Montfort Mlachila, Assistant Director of the IMF Africa Sector, Mr. Regis Sund, Acting Executive Director of the IMF’s Africa Group, and Ms. Christina Kostial, Deputy Director of the Strategy and Policy Department in the IMF’s Audit Sector.
During the meetings, they discussed various files of cooperation between the Fund and our country.
The Minister called on the officials of the Fund to accompany our country during its rotating presidency of the African Union, whose presidency was assumed by His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh EL Ghazouani, at the beginning of this year.
The leaders of the Fund expressed their full readiness to accompany our country through technical support and provide everything that would contribute to solving the problems of the continent and pushing it towards prosperity, as well as mobilizing support from the Group of Twenty as well as the Group of Seven.
