On 22 December, in Rosso, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, inaugurated the project to secure and improve the drinking water system.
The project, which will double the city’s production to reach the threshold of 10,000 cubic meters, is financed for a total amount of 71.5 million new ouguiyas to be taken from the state budget, which will put an end to the problem
of water shortage in the city for years to come.
The project includes the acquisition and installation of an integrated unit consisting of a wastewater treatment plant with a production capacity of 5,000 cubic meters per day, in addition to the installation of an underground steel tank
with a capacity of 200 cubic meters, and the installation of an overhead steel tank with a capacity of 100 cubic meters and an electrical transformation station.
