President of Republic Oversees the Inauguration of the Expansion of the Mauritania Dates Company Factory

His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, inaugurated, on Sunday evening in the city of Atar, the capital of the province of Adrar, the expansion of the dates factory, belonging to the “Mauritania Dates” company, as part of the celebrations commemorating the 63rd anniversary of the glorious National Independence Day.

The inauguration of this facility after the expansion of the date preservation and packaging unit will enable the company to double the production capacity from 500 tons to 1,000 tons, which will allow it to reach the necessary level of economic and financial returns.

The expansion works include the construction of 4 cold rooms with an additional capacity of 500 tons, a workshop for processing and preserving vegetables, in addition to all the necessary equipment and equipment to sterilize, preserve and package dates and vegetables, especially carrots, which is the most widespread product in Adrar.

The expansion also includes the construction of a solar-powered power plant, which will provide more than 30% of the energy needs of the Mauritania Dates Company, which will contribute to reducing its production costs.

The cost of completing this expansion amounted to 65 million and 360 thousand new Ouguyas, co-financed by the Mauritanian state and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development through the Oasis Development and Development Project.
