The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mr. Abdel Selam Mohamed Saleh, returned last night to Nouakchott from Geneva, after participating in the work of the Global Refugee Forum, which was hosted by Switzerland and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in the period between 13-15 December.
The second edition of this forum witnessed a demonstration of the level of progress in implementing the pledges made by our country during the first edition, and a new package of pledges that will contribute to strengthening and accelerating the measures taken to improve the situation of refugees residing on Mauritanian territory.
The activities of this edition, organized by the countries of France, Jordan, Uganda, Japan and Colombia, included many events and meetings aimed at finding appropriate solutions to the problems suffered by refugees.
The Minister also held several meetings with some officials.
